Alpha Tau Omega participates in many social events each quarter to help network with other organizations on campus. We strive to get involved with groups from all areas in order to promote the positive aspects of Greek Life. A few social activities include:
TGs (Themed Gatherings)
Several times each quarter, ATO pairs up with a sorority to enjoy a themed evening together. These events usually take place off campus at a rented venue. Some favorite themes include Pirates, 80s, St. Patty’s Day, GI Joe, and Toga to name a few. TGs are a favorite among ATOs.
Football Saturdays
Everyone at Ohio State looks forward to Saturdays during football season. The morning starts bright and early with a cookout at the ATO House open to anyone on campus. Our new house on 15th Ave is at the center of campus, so it is a great location for these cookouts. After the cookout we head down to the stadium to tailgate with family and friends. ATOs create seating groups by grade to cheer on the Buckeyes as brothers. Go Bucks!
ATO Formal
ATO Formal is held every year during winter quarter the night after ATO Casino Night. The brothers all wear tuxedos and their dates dress in formal gowns to enjoy a fun night of dinner and dancing.
Date Parties
ATO holds Date Parties throughout the school year. Each brother brings a date of their choice, and the event can range from a formal night downtown to a themed date party at a brother’s house. Most recently, a formal date party was held to celebrate the beginning of Spring Quarter.
Greek Week
During Greek Week, ATO pairs up with a sorority and a multicultural fraternity or sorority on campus to participate in a week of competition and celebration. With contests such as Tug-of-War, Variety Show, and Greek Olympics followed by TGs at night, Greek Week is a favorite among the brothers of ATO.
ATO strives for balance in all aspects of Fraternity Life, so only a small portion of our focus is spent on social events. While we all enjoy spending time with others in a social atmosphere, we realize where our priorities lie as influential members of the Greek Community. We use these social events as motivation for hard work to our other causes.
