The brothers of Alpha Tau Omega have been working hard over the past several months to prepare for Casino Night 2012. The black tie event will be held in the Archie Griffin Grand Ballroom in the Ohio Union on March 9th 2012. The event kicks off at 8pm and will feature over $5,000 in prizes, a live jazz band, and special guest Former Coach Jim Tressel. The brothers of Alpha Tau Omega hope to send 750 letters and sell 1,000 tickets in order to reach their goal of a $40,000 donation to the Tressel Family Fund for Cancer Prevention Research at Ohio State’s James Cancer Research Hospital.

October 24th began what will be most certainly remembered as one of the best homecoming weeks that the Beta Omega chapter has participated in. The brothers had a blast with the ladies of Kappa Delta and Phi Sigma Rho. The week included several socials as well as a great showing in the Homecoming parade.

On Saturday, August 20, hundreds of ATO brothers met for the 2011 Fall Awards Banquet at the Sheraton Indianapolis City Centre. With more than 270 Taus in attendance, this event marked the largest Fall Awards Banquet that ATO has ever seen.

Beta Omega once again received the True Merit cup in recognition for our chapter’s success during the past year.

On April 28th, several Taus volunteered to help the neighboring sorority, Kappa Kappa Gamma, with their philanthropy event. Service Chair Joey Hirka and several other brothers helped cook hotdogs to raise money for the National Kidney Foundation. Special thanks to Annemarie and congratulations to the Beta Nu chapter of Kappa Kappa Gamma for a fantastic philanthropic event!

This year the Beta Omega chapter won nine total awards (including two chapter awards and seven individual awards) at the Ohio State University Greek Awards ceremony. These awards include:

May 7th the Taus celebrated Mother’s Day by inviting moms up for a day of fun. Lunch was held at the Ohio Union, and followed by dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings where the Kentucky Derby was watched with much enthusiasm. Afterwards, moms and sons enjoyed the rest of the evening at the O Patio.

The brothers of ATO participated in a university wide community service event called Rock the Block. Special thanks to our site leaders Katie Burwell of Chi Omega and Dasha Zhitenev of Alpha Chi Omega for doing a fantastic job!

The Taus have chosen their 2011 sweetheart! Hayley Simmons of Kappa Alpha Theta was selected to be included on this years composite as the official sweetheart of ATO.
